Dancers (Ages 4 - 10) & Boys (Ages
5 - 12)
It is our goal for ShowTime to provide a positive educational and
fun learning experience for children. We plan the program so that children have the opportunity to particpate in several
musical selections with various styles and types of music. Some of the children's numbers are presented by
age/class groups and others are with other classes and the entire Showtime cast. ShowTime is a community event --
and requires parents to volunteer with backstage assistance from in order to present a successful "live"
performance for large audiences. The performances are held at Eastman's Toy F. Reid Auditorium as part of Kingsport's
Fun Fest in July each summer.
Dancers and boys are not required to audition, but registration in
classes is required. Dancers must take classes at a local dance studio and must have had performance experience in recitals,
competitons, or other form of dance program (Nutcracker, etc).
The boys do not need dance experience,
but should have performance experience (school or church programs or plays) and must be interested and understand the
performance experience.
The dancers and boys take classes for several weeks to prepare for their
ShowTime performances. There is a fee for the classes, but there is not a fee ShowTime rehearsals or costumes.
Detailed general and class information and a registration is
provided on the links below and other links are provided for quick reference.
